There’s no need to format your SSD2GO PKT before using it for the first time. It comes preformatted with an exFAT file system. It’s ready for immediate use and will be automatically recognized by your device.

Before using it for the first time, ensure that your recording device supports external recording via USB-C. Check the Angelbird Compatibility Check for optimal compatibility between your camera and the SSD2GO PKT. Plug the USB-C cable into your camera’s USB-C port and get ready to start recording. For added convenience while recording, use the Mounting Bracket PKT to attach your SSD to your camera.

The SSD2GO PKT is designed with user-friendly features, including the LED Write-Protect-Switch. It prevents users from unintentionally deleting, formatting, or transferring unwanted data to the SSD. Data safety is ensured through its unique Read-Only mode functionality, providing an extra layer of protection for critical files.


  • The orange LED indicates that the Write-Protect-Switch is activated, preventing accidental file deletion.
  • The white LED shows that the SSD is connected to a host (e.g., your computer), but the Write-Protect-Switch is not activated.
  • A flashing LED indicates that data is currently transferring.
